Renal Artery Stenting

Atherosclerosis or fibrous disease of the arteries carrying blood to the kidney causes severe blocking or narrowing down of the arteries called Renal Artery Stenosis. These blockages or narrowing down are removed with the help of a surgical procedure called Renal Artery Stenting. A cardiologist will confirm the extent of block in consultation with a nephrologist. A surgeon will choose to do an angioplasty of the renal arteries or place a stent depending on the condition of the artery.
